The Branch ChurchSan Bernardino

The Branch Church was started on January 1, 2005 with the help of Immanuel Baptist Church of Highland and The Vine Church of Rancho Cucamonga. David Medina felt God calling him to start a church in 2003, and with the guidance of Pastor Paul Reed, Pastor Jeff Evans, and Arilla Austin, the church launched; meeting in his living room with 6 adults and 2 infants. The Branch church is now meeting at Cesar Chavez Middle School in North San Bernardino. Pastor David wanted to plant in this area because he saw that the community was ripe for growth and only had two churches that he knew of within a several mile radius. One of the areas that The Branch Church prides itself in is having strong and accurate doctrine. Having been a member of Immanuel Baptist since he was 12 years old, and on staff for 6 years in the youth ministry, Pastor David feels that those who have come over to start this church have carried the strong doctrine learned from Rob Zinn and the great staff and lay teachers at Immanuel. Some of the current exciting ministries growing at The Branch are the Children’s Ministry (called TWIGS), and the prayer ministry. This year the Children’s workers have made a strong commitment to teaching kids the Word of God. Every week children are learning Bible verses, Bible stories, and how to be Kingdom Citizens. The Branch also has a new “Prayer Room” that many of the church members are excited to use. Finally, as part of the church DNA, they are continuing their  Serving Our World (SOW) evangelism strategy that allows them the opportunity to do numerous “servant evangelism” projects throughout the year. Some of these projects have included the “Absolutely Free” car wash, water and granola bars in the park, partnering with Set Free Skid Row to feed the homeless, and many other things they feel can serve people and bring glory to Jesus. You can keep The Branch Church in prayer as they are in the process of incorporating as a church. They would love to know more people are praying for them to be careful, accurate, and full of God’s peace through the entire transition. Also pray that they would live lives that honor and glorify Jesus Christ.
