As the title says, there are emerging legal issues for the church that weren't even thought of a few years ago. To assist IESBA member churches to better understand these issues, Reverend John Sandy will be conducting a special workshop on Thursday, August 21, 2014.

MEET THE PRESENTER
John is a Ministry Partner of the IESBA and supports local churches through pastoral counseling, spiritual care to pastors and their families, and workshops on spiritual care and ministry administrative topics. He is an ordained minister and is a Board Certified Christian Counselor and Board Certified Pastoral Counselor with the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors. He attended The Master’s Seminary and obtained an M.A. in biblical counseling from The Master’s College. John is also a Christian attorney who has a private legal practice in Riverside where he concentrates in church, business and counseling law. He is the author of Church Lay Counseling Risk Management Guidebook for church insurer Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, and writes an ongoing column entitled “Law, Ethics and Liability” for the American Association of Christian Counselors’ Christian Counseling Today magazine. In addition, he is an adjunct professor of business law for California Baptist University in Riverside, CA, and an adjunct professor of counseling law and ethics for Southern California Seminary in El Cajon, CA.
